Amazing snow resort with a well laid out Mountain. The slopes are well maintained and even the off piste sections are very easy to ride through. Snow park isn't too big, but it's great to learn on and isn't too small that it's boring after a few runs. There are plenty of difficulties available for all levels of boarders or skiers. The lines do pile up at the weekends, especially when there's prime snow during the night, but the time passes quickly enough. The snow tour is amazing, the guide will explain things in both Japanese and English. We saw places in Nozawa that you cannot see otherwise.

What a gem of a resort. Good lift infrastructure, excellent terrain including in-bounds tree skiing at the top of the mountain. Terrific and inexpensive meal options all over the mountain. Nozawa Onsen village is nestled literally at the base of the mountain. I can't wait to come back! Tip - on a powder day, you can put your skis in line at the gondola and then go have some breakfast. As long as you're back before the gondola starts for the day (usually around 8:40am) you'll keep your position in line :)

This place is awesome. Runs for everyone. Make sure that you get to the top... the view is amazing!! Check out Nozawa Holidays, they have an awesome ski/snowboard rental service including snow lockers. My Dock cafe has best chocolate brownies in town. Restaurant at the top of the Gondola is also worth the trip.

this is my first snow resort in Japan and I am absolutely in love with it!! It’s towards the end of this snow season so there are some discounts on the lift tickets and the passes. The view up top at Mt.Kenashi is breathtaking! you are above the clouds and can see the snow alps from far away. if I didn’t know how to board, I’d probably still take the lift up to just see the view :)

I want to give it 4.5 stars but can't. The town is beautiful and easy to get around. Plenty of restaurants and places to buy what you need for a repair, souvenir or general store stuff. We stayed with Nozawa holidays who are super helpful and made the trip much easier than it could have been. On the slopes it is super quiet and the lift lines are almost ski on especially during the week. The only thing letting the place down for me is the lack of ski runs. I found myself getting a bit bored of the same runs for my level after a few days. The is also the green run that has to be done to get to the on slopes restaurants that goes up hill a couple of times so most people have to un clip there bindings to skate or walk to the next section. The food is great on the slopes and around town. Prices are good. The onsen are a sensational part of the town. Trying to get into and stay in the ridiculously hot water is a challenge in itself!
